Easter Cupcakes for Bunnies and Chicks!

I just HAD to share the stunning photographs that Suzy Harrison (Suzyska Photos) took for us the other day here at Pixie Nom-Nom HQ! The day was spent baking and decorating some deeee-licious Easter treats for you all...

Love for Mr Pixie Nom-Nom!

I love many things in this world...

Cupcakes...

Alice In Wonderland...

My cats...

Baking blogs...

Peanut butter, chorizo, good bread, cheese and milk...

But most importantly, I love my husband. I don't think I say enough how much I appreciate Mr Pixie Nom-Nom's support in my love of cupcakes and in the business, either to other people or to him... But I do.

I love that he will resist eating the sweets that I save up to decorate cupcakes with...

I love that he will tell me when my bizarre cupcake recipes are less than perfect, and that he will make appreciate noises when they are spot-on...

I love that he lets me take over all the kitchen cupboards  (and worktops and drawers) with different sugars and flours and decorations and icing...

I love him.

I wouldn't be getting anywhere if it wasn't for his constant support and encouragement, and he certainly makes me a better person, a better mother and a better cupcake-obsessive.

Thank you, Mr Pixie Nom-Nom...

Chocolate-Orange Brownie Cupcakes for Wendy and Rojo!

So... I have this little sister, Wendy...

She likes cake.

And my sister has this boyfriend, Rojo.

His name is weird. So is he. But actually, despite the rules stating that I *should* dislike my sister's boyfriend, Mr Pixie Nom-Nom and I (and especially Small Troll) are actually quite fond of him.

So I made him cupcakes.

Chocolate-orange brownie cupcakes with a gooey orange creme center, smothered in chocolate ganache with a whole segment of chocolate-orange on the top...

He liked them, and liked me more accordingly. Which is always good.

Small Troll and Rojo. We like them both.

Birthday Cupcakes for JoJo!

Shortly after Mr Pixie Nom-Nom and I became an item, we were invited to a bbq, thrown by a former work colleague of his, JoJo. Skip forward a couple of years, and it's JoJo's *whispers* 40th birthday... and guess who made cupcakes?

Go on, take a guess...

You'd be right.

So we had classic vanilla cupcakes, lovingly swirled with vanilla buttercream, and topped with suitably-sparkly icing hearts and stars, silver chocolate dragees and silver balls...

And then we had some exceedingly dark, chocolate-hazelnut cupcakes, with chocolate-hazelnut ganache layered on top, then sprinkled with slitter, silver dragees, silver balls and chopped nuts...

*drool*

*more drool*

As you can see from the empty cupcakes cases in the background of the above picture, these little beauties went down a treat...

And Mr Pixie Nom-Nom and I certainly enjoyed the party...

Gingerbread Cupcakes for Everyone!

So okay, I'm a few months late for a Christmas-themed post... But we have had lots of family stuff to deal with, as well as a broken oven, but now we are back on track and catching up with our backlog of cupcake posts!

Casting our minds back to the festive holiday period, I thought it neccessary to make some suitably wintery cupcakes for our family to share over Yule...

Oh yes, moist Gingerbread Cupcakes, topped with Bailey's whipped cream and winter-fully decorated with red, green and brown chocolate beans and glitter... It doesn't get *much* more Christmassy than this...

That gingerbread cupcake was deliciously moist and the Bailey's whipped cream was a very more-ish, and very adult, treat!

Engagement Cupcakes for Sian and Matt! (And Louie and Jack-Jack!)

Well, we had some wonderful news that friends of ours, Sian and Matt, were finally, after having two small (and utterly gorgeous!) boys together, getting engaged!

And to celebrate, of course, I made cupcakes! Beautiful green and pink cupcakes for two beautiful people...

Cinnamon, vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, beautifully topped with hazelnut chocolate spread, pink and green icing, pink and green chocolate drizzle, hundreds-and-thousands and pink and green glitter...

And upon showing photos of what I'd made to Sian on the Pixie Nom-Nom Cupcakes Facebook Page, she commented "bloody hell are these for us? they are totally amazing, this is exciting, ive just shown jack and he said" i love that colour, will we be allowed to eat them?" thanks so much for the time and effort Mrs Ralph xxx"

Apparently, the cupcakes went down a treat and were well received, especially by Sian and Matt's lovely sons!

Mr Pixie Nom-Nom and I wish them all the best for their engagement and forthcoming wedding!

Cadbury Fruit and Nut cupcakes for me!

After a bit of a tough week, with our son being ill, Mr Pixie Nom-Nom and I were in dire need of a bit of a treat... a nutty, fruity, chocolatey, cupcakey treat... After a quick jaunt to the local shop, we were resplendent with a BIG bar of Cadbury's Fruit and Nut... but what to *do* with it?

Why, make Cadbury Fruit and Nut cupcakes, of course!

Photography by Suzy Harrison of Suzyska Photos

There they are... well, the ones that lasted till Suzy arrived to take her beautiful pictures of them anyway!

Sumptuous cinnamon-vanilla-chocolate cupcakes, tenderly topped with Cadbury Fruit and Nut chocolate ganache, swirled with raisins and almonds, and glittered up with a Cadbury-purple glitter!

If heaven has a taste, this is surely it.

Needless to say, they made everyone feel better, even our Small Troll-Child...

See? Cupcakes make everyone smile. This is the joy they bring.
